Dr. Michael Brent Lea
Dr. Michael Brent Lea completed his undergraduate training at the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. After graduating with honors, he sat for the Clinical Exercise Physiologist credentialing exam through the American College of Sports Medicine. As a three-sport athlete through high school, Dr. Lea had a particular interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation. He sustained a career ending injury in high school athletics that led him toward a passion of helping others. He completed an internship in the prestigious Human Performance Center at Logan University.
Dr. Lea would continue his academic career at Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri en route to completing his training as a Chiropractic Physician. Logan is known as one of the prestigious Chiropractic Colleges in the world. While pursuing his dream in St. Louis, Dr. Lea became an academic tutor in the radiology department based on his academic merit. With a voracious appetite for learning, Dr. Lea traveled the country studying under the most renown Chiropractors to further serve his future patients. It was during these travels that he became fascinated with how neurology was positively affected through Chiropractic care. He holds a certificate from Harvard X in Neuroscience. Dr. Lea is currently pursuing a Diplomate in functional neurology through the Carrick Institute which is the leading program for Chiropractic Neurologists.
Upon graduation, he was offered an academic faculty role at Logan University to teach radiology to the next generation of doctors. He declined this offer to enter private practice to help patients realize a life without debilitating spine pain. He accepted a role as an Associate Doctor in St. Louis where he remained for two years prior to opening his own practice in Indianapolis.
Dr. Lea’s passion for understanding the neurological mechanism of how the nervous system works led him to co-author the only textbook regarding infrared thermography as it relates to the practice of Chiropractic. He is just one of just several hundred doctors in the world that practice Upper Cervical Chiropractic. His training is a very specific and scientific approach to providing conservative spine care to patients.
Upon opening Crossroads Brain & Spine in 2022, Dr. Lea quickly became the authority in central Indiana as it pertains to treating disc injuries. He is one of the fastest growing practices in Indiana through the utilization of non-surgical spinal decompression. Dr. Lea is pursuing a national certification in non-surgical spinal decompression and will be one of the youngest doctors in America to obtain this distinction.
